1. Main Function

Indications : Specifically for use in premenopausal women experiencing significant and personally distressing decreases in libido due to HSDD (other medical conditions, medications, or relationship issues must be excluded).

Mechanism of action :

Flibanserin is a 5-HT1A receptor agonist/5-HT2A receptor antagonist that attempts to restore the balance between sexual desire and inhibition by regulating neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in the brain.

Unlike hormonal drugs, it acts directly on areas of the brain related to sexual response rather than regulating sex hormone levels.

2. Efficacy characteristics

Onset of effect : It takes 4-8 weeks of daily use before you may notice an improvement in your libido.

Effect : Clinical studies have shown that approximately 10%-15% of patients report a significant increase in sexual desire, but there are large individual differences.

3. Usage and dosage

Recommended dose : 100 mg orally daily at bedtime (to reduce the risk of side effects).

Notes :

It must be used regularly and long-term and is not an "on-demand" medication.

Avoid taking it with alcohol or CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as certain antibiotics and antifungal drugs), as this may increase the risk of severe hypotension or syncope.
